Welcome to Heroic Fundraising

We wear our hearts on our sleeves. We get a lump in our throats during Hallmark® commercials.

But nothing moves us more than when a soldier receives the Congressional Medal of Honor from our president. Think of it: The most powerful person in our world placing a medal of honor on a hero who has saved lives under impossible odds and withering enemy fire. And what’s the hero’s response? It’s always a variation on, “I was just doing what had to be done.”

True heroes never seem to think of themselves as heroes at all.

We talk a lot about heroes here at TrueSense® Marketing. Because to us, donors are heroes, too. They are the ones who make our world a better place. They help right societal wrongs. Feed hungry children. Provide safe housing for families. Fight cancer. And meet the needs of hurting people around the world.

That’s also why we don’t talk at donors. We talk to them. And, more importantly, we listen. We want them to experience a nonprofit’s mission in the clearest manner. We want them to be moved by offers that leverage their gifts. And we want them to become so engaged, that they become annual sustainers, move up the pipeline to mid-level, and eventually become major donors. Or that they decide to make the ultimate show of support through a bequest or planned gift.

Donors don’t seem to think of themselves as heroes, either. But we know better. And that’s what this blog is all about. Helping donor-heroes solve problems and right wrongs. We’ll do this by sharing with you what we’ve learned through serving worthy nonprofits and helping them reach their goals.

Because we’re hoping that will help you accomplish yours.
