Social Media Powers Up K9s For Warriors

$ 11,000 Raised from 340 donors

Challenge

K9s For Warriors has a very large group of followers on social media, but many Facebook fans had yet to make their first gift. 

Solution

In an effort to convert these fans into donors, TrueSense Marketing carried out a Facebook Fundraiser to leverage the annual PTSD Awareness Day, observed on June 27.

In order to maximize engagement and giving on PTSD Awareness Day, we focused our marketing efforts on Facebook because of the social exposure that the social media channel could provide for this “one-day” event. We created a Facebook Fundraiser page, paid social media advertising, and organic content that centered around the story of Warrior Greg and his Service Dog, Utah. Because this was K9s For Warriors’ first Facebook Fundraiser, we set a goal of $5,000.

Results

Thanks to unprecedented donor response, we quickly increased the goal to $10,000. The Fundraiser was live for a total of eight days, and the goal was met prior to PTSD Awareness Day. From this effort, K9s For Warriors raised more than $11,000 from 340 donors, and the Fundraiser was shared more than 1.4K times!
